Petris Updates Recall, Debuts Raven and Impetus

Petris Technology Inc., provider of data management solutions for the energy sector, announced a new release of Recall, a popular application for managing, storing and processing wellbore data. Version 5.3 includes major enhancements to data integration, workflow, search tools and database security.

Recall Version 5.3 also includes the RePhine module, a new wizard for petrophysical sensitivity and uncertainty analysis. Workflow is further improved through a Transfer Bucket and WITSML loader. Added to this is the PWE Recall browser, a powerful new Recall search tool, and improved Recall database security. The user will be able to see all data associated with the well, view attributes and select data for download. Individual logs or curves can be selected for plotting, and the user has control over the depth range to be plotted, plot format, depth scale, etc.

In conjunction with this new release, Petris is introducing two new major products, Raven and Impetus.

            Raven is a new suite of applications that run extensive investigations on data loaded into Recall databases and provide rule-based evaluation of data quality and metrics, thereby reducing the effort required to validate data. In addition, it will provide all the information necessary to improve the quality of – and user confidence in – borehole data. Raven features a graphical, interactive display that allows both management and technical staff to appraise data integrity rapidly and decide how it will be made available to the company’s geoscience community.

            Impetus is designed for casual or novice users of image data and is based on Recall’s well-established Log Image loading, processing and interpretation software. The emphasis is on guidance, visualization and ease of use, while adopting a familiar Windows-like interface for all operations. Impetus features a guided wizard for preparation of quality images from raw data (from any commercial imaging tool), and the image interpretation module is tightly coupled with the 3D viewer and dip pattern analysis tools.
